I went to the emergency room on Thursday night thinking that I was going into (very) early labor. It’s a long story and I will spare you the details, but it turned out that I had a raging urinary tract infection. The baby is fine, thank gawd, but there were tubes going into holes that are CLEARLY marked “exit only” (hello, urethra!), and really it has just been the absolute week from hell.
So! How ’bout some Halloween pics? Friday we went for a lunchtime picnic at the Dallas Arboretum, where they were wrapping up their Great Pumpkin Festival. That evening Ethan dressed up as a dragon and/or a dinosaur, we can’t decide which. My sister’s boyfriend came trick-or-treating with us. He dressed up like a caveman (check out those LEGS!), which kind of sort of maybe went with the whole dinosaur/dragon theme. Even though I felt like total and complete ASS the entire day, we had a great time.
I want to point out that those jeans are size 18 months, WHAT THE HELL. I am thiiis close to feeding him vats of Crisco and canisters of icing with a spoon.
From left to right: Me, my sister Emily, Ethan, and Drew. Those are my too-big pregnancy jeans, which I wore during my first pregnancy, and I’m too stubborn to buy new ones that fit better. I have to sexily hike them up every two steps. GLAM, baby.
Drew thought it would be funny to ride the wagon we rented down a hill. It was HILARIOUS.
Justin (aka LEGS), my cute mom, and Ethan
Ethan eagerly helped pass out candy after he was done trick-or-treating. If anyone approached wearing any kind of mask, he would run screaming into the house. He assured us he understood the concept of a mask, but this happened over and over again anyway.
Jack-o-lanterns
I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! Don’t eat the gold chocolate coins, by the way…

I’ve never been in labor, but I’ve had some serious cramps/spasms from an UI. If it ever happens again, a pharmacist at Walgreens pointed out and over the counter asprin specifically for UI’s. It turns your pee a wild orange, but it really works!
